An effective Instructional Systems Technologist uses research proven systematic approaches to learning to create meaningful learning experiences for learners using technology. By understanding how people learn, the designer creates curriculum, resources, and materials that correspond with identified learning outcomes, competencies, and skills. All of this is accomplished using project management principles with budget, timelines and identified deliverables. Finally, because technology and associated learning theories change rapidly, members of this field stay abreast of new innovations that will benefit learners by participating in research and testing new technologies.
